  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     The Bambu I read pirated the Prusa so it looks mostly the same. Camera is fine. But there are a few you tube videos on improving the lighting.

    I can see not making the groove fully half the diameter of the wire deep. If the wire for any reason is just a tad out of tolerance then the wheel won't press down perhaps.

    One option is to take a much less expensive 7/16" and put it in the lathe snugging down just enough to hold it and make all three jaws compress the same amount. Mount a Dremel on the cross slide and spin the lathe opposite to the Dremel rotation and remove 0.035 or essentially start with it...

    I agree with @PeterT The dimensions don't make sense. The radius of the groove can't be 2mm. If it was 1mm (2mm diameter) then we get the 0.5mm from each edge of the wheel but now the ID of the groove is 18mm not 18.8mm. Assuming the above are the real dimensions the this is how I'd make...
