Welcome to Westwood Metalworks, What is he building in there?

Had my welding tests this morning and after I finished my oxy/ac test early I played around a bit. One of the guys brought in a little snail hairpin to repair made from coiled copper tube and brass rod. I dug through the scrap bin and made some much rougher copies....

Welcome to Westwood Metalworks, What is he building in there?

Had some time after lunch and before golf to get some work done. Dialed in the contact wheel, then bored it out for bearings. Tried to cut the snap ring groove, but didn't have a toolbit that would work and reach properly, and had to run to catch my tee time. Will have to grind up a toolbit...

    7.5” gauge Challenger

These are the types of projects I can oogle over and totally appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that went into designing and building, but still take a step back, and not fall down that rabbit hole of wanting to do them. Scraping and machine reconditioning is another.

    Chain wear

You are. You caught it. How many guys out there running, wouldn't? Until it was too late and bad shit happened. I don't know enough about chain to even have a guess, but it's not unheard of for poor quality stuff to find it's way out the doors of otherwise reputable manufacturers. There's...

Welcome to Westwood Metalworks, What is he building in there?

Metalworking content? If anybody remembers that far back.....I've been building a 2x72 belt grinder of my own design. Inspired by Jeremy shmidts brilliant design, but with my own twist and take on it. I made some great progress initially. In fact the entire body and frame of the grinder has...
