Any industrial electrical supply can get you a contactor suitable to replace that one. Bring it with you and tell them it’s for a 3hp motor.

Powering up my old Hendey lathe

I looked at your other thread and if it is 220v 1ph like you said then 3 wires would be expected (two hots to make the 220v and a ground). If your outlet is 4 wire 220v 1ph then the extra wire is for a machine or appliance that uses both 220v and 120v. The extra wire would be a neutral return...

    Hendey T&G Lathe

I’m not sure what the maximum is, I haven’t done my research yet. Currently it is 18 square meters and if I go bigger I’d like to have around 30 square meters. I think since the rules have changed since it was constructed I will have to request a variance to build anything there since it is...

    Guidance to air compressors

I’m not going to wade into the math but I’ll throw in my two cents. I have an air dynafile that I use at home. It’s an amazing tool for building bicycle frames. The electric ones are bigger, have less power and die pretty quickly. I bought mine used and it is a dynabrade brand one so I can’t...

    Hendey T&G Lathe

Eye opening for sure! I’m taking advantage of the time I have when I have it. I did a bit of work this weekend. I pulled the headstock off and installed the gears that I got from another Hendey enthusiast in the US. The difference in wear was striking the old gear was .020” smaller on diameter...

Material Interactions, Application and Catastrophic Results

I think I read that the metal used in the sub in addition to carbon fibre was titanium? That's the best structural metal for combining with carbon fibre with regards to corrosion, they're both on the cathodic end of the galvanic series so there's little interaction. Steel and aluminum don't...
