  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Repurposing old rotary table as welding positioner

Finished up the rotary positioner today. With the timing pulley arrangement as shown, top of the table has a speed range of zero to 1.5 rpm. An almost infinite combination of pulley sizes are available to adjust the speed range. Of course, the optimal table rpm varies with the diameter of the...

    Drill press reincarnation

Don't junk your old worn out drill press. There are still lots of uses for the old parts. 1. Old Delta DP-220 drill press 2. Delta tables & Walker Turner bases used for mounting mag drills 3. Delta table, Craftsman base, & 9" Troyke rotary table used as welding positioner 4, Walker Turner &...

Repurposing old rotary table as welding positioner

Since I purchased a slightly larger Yuasa rotary table, i have no need for my old 9" Troyke BH-9. Since they are not worth a great deal on the used market, I thought I might try my hand at using it as a welding positioner. Using it solely as a flat, horizontal positioner requires virtually no...

    Pantograph Plasma Cutting Machine Build

I'd like to hang onto the pantograph. I also have an early pantograph I made back in 1979 (1st picture below). I live near Annapolis, Maryland in the U.S. A word of advice: Depending on where you are located, it wouldn't be difficult for a small CNC plasma table to pay for itself in a year...

    Pantograph Plasma Cutting Machine Build

Can't help you with that one. I don't use the pantograph machine any more, and it isn't set up. I have used CNC plasma tables for some 25 years now. A pantograph outfit is better than cutting by hand, but doesn't compare to CNC. Cut quality is just as good, but it can't cut complex shapes...
