  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year.     I have a cheap Busy Bee 6" vise and can't say that I am impressed with the quality. So far I have had to change the thrust bearings and there is a 0.0015" bow in the fixed jaw since new.     Could you forge a piece of 3/8" x 2" flat bar into an arc and then grind a bevel on the bottom of it and then weld the arc to the piece of 1/2" plate that you have. This would yield a form that would resemble the cross section of a skillet.

    Might not be too bad if you were able rough out the shape with a grinder and then level a jig or guide on the stump and use a router to produce a uniform cavity.

    It seems to be all of the servos. I am thinking that it may be induced noise so I am making provisions to rewire the whole unit over the holidays and see if that addresses the issue.
