You still on the fence to get a 3d printer?

What do you need to know to run a 3d printer and what are most of you using? Fusion? FreeCAD? Others? I started learning FreeCAD a couple of years ago for the plasma cutter that has yet to happen, but recently, tried it. It has been updated from a 0.19 to a 1.0 and I think I am at the bottom of...

    Tig torch adapter?

Ah. ok. Thanks. No problem. I just wanted to confirm that I was not missing an obvious available adapter.

    Tig torch adapter?

I bought a Tig torch, 17F, from Amazon, thinking I could just install it on my welding cable. I used to have a flex head and really liked the options it allowed. The torch that came on my welder is a 26. The fitting in the new torch is much smaller and I am wondering if anyone has adapted a #17...

    Welding challenge

Thanks again for the input everyone! I know there are a ton of videos on line to address welding of all kinds, many well known due to their quality. I stumbled across this series from the Everlast site. It has not come up often in my searches, but I think this guy does a great job. I watched...

    Welding challenge

So, just out of curiosity....and because I have not done much with fiberglass. For that part, would you use fiberglass resin or West system epoxy? Is a Canadian tire type fiberglass resin inferior to say one I bought at an Auto Parts store? Are there different qualities? (Saaaay, my fourth and...

    Gas welding kit advice?

Would a plumber's set up work for you? A B Tank I think (50 cu ft) of acetylane. There is already a thread on here about the cost of gas. I have the small oxy/acetylene torches. Last time to fill them both I think was about $150. Saving grace is I only do that once every few years. I save on the...

@phaxtris Yes, I agree on the pulse. I am probably biting off more than I should. The controls are there so I am anxious to mess with them, but I think the only thing getting "messed with" is me....lol I will do tomorrow's without pulse. With pulse comes all the other settings, limits of pulse...

    Welding challenge

@phaxtris Great !! I think we were welding at the same time. Here is #3. It is much better for me, but not as good as yours of course. At least I am seeing improvement. So a worthwhile exercise. I might try one more tomorrow. My finish settings were similar (I started with something...

    Welding challenge

I ran most of these (excluding two right ones) this morning with the input I have received (better cleaning, flat on an aluminum plate so better heat sinking). I varied pulse rate and ratio a bit (going right to left) but did not take precise notes so can't tell you what I did exactly. But...

    Welding challenge

Thanks @phaxtris and @justin1 When I was doing flat samples (butt joints) on the steel table, I found the table was soaking up the heat too much. I see in Jody's video, the jig holds the coupons off of the bottom, but sinks the heat from the outside edges. Ah! I was conscience of air expanding...
