    DRO Recommendations

Just an FYI, Craftex has a decent instruction manual for their DRO install; their DRO for that machine seems to be out of stock. https://www.busybeetools.com/products/digital-read-out-for-cx605-and-cx612.html

I wouldn't count the Prusa's out - that's what I would have likely bought if it weren't that my buddy was loaning me his Ender3 (Pro?) - for myself, I ended up buying the CR-6 MAX... I want to be able to make molds in the future for carbon fibre brake ducts (for the race car) but our rotors are...

NEW Old Stock - all are in original boxes w/ original packing paper wrapped around them - I didn't unwrap all of them individually - there may be a touch of staining on some because of their age and that they are in cardboard boxes. Boxes appear to have that "pre-80s" look to them (UV bleached...

@Susquatch - I do have smaller parting tools, but I may take you up on your offer - we'll work something out. @Tecnico - I think I need to give HSS more consideration because of the speeds I'm limited to... it's not like I don't have enough tool holders and using the HSS seems like it would...

I bought the Creality 4.2.7 mainboard and I upgraded to the aluminum extruder direct drive mount (Microswiss). The Dragonfly BMS Hot End doesn't mount directly to the aluminum mount I have so I'm still using the stock Creality Hot End (the spacing and shape don't fit; could likely be solved w/...

Worst case/the highest from base to cutting edge is the silver parting tool w/ the insert. It measures out to 1.195" using the micrometer - it's in a 250-202T tool meaning that the slot in the tool holder has been cut larger - that material comes off of the bottom (where you can read ACCUSIZE)...

I'm avoiding cutting the tool post - I'd prefer to cut the tool SLIDE but because I want to be able to resell and keep my BXA stuff I'm leaning heavily towards making a new tool slide.

The deck of the tool slide is too high - are you thinking that I could cut down the base of the BXA post? I think @PeterT summed up what I'm thinking that I need to do the best w/ this photo/edit. I'm reluctant to cut the top off of the tool slide so am still contemplating making another to...

I got the hub adapter/spacer issue resolved and can go back to properly setting up the tool post for the lathe. Therefore, back to tramming the head of the mill, etc.

Yeah... I haven't figured out the chart and levers yet. https://manualzz.com/doc/53356446/craftex-cx-series-cx709-13in.-x-24in.-metal-lathe-owner-m... I'll keep plugging away and see what I can do w/ the advice, etc. I'll look to see if there's a simpler solution "for now" so that I can get...
