  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    Relief maker by Alibre

Another option that may do what you need is CamBam. It runs locally (i.e., NOT cloud based) and uses a permanent license. I think the recently added MOP imports at least STL files. Unfortunately, their website seems to be unavailable right now. Hopefully it isn't a long-term issue ... I've...

I finally got my MEM Corliss finished and running

Congratulations on getting it done and running. Could be an intimidating beast to setup with all those moving bits. Mesmerising to watch run though I'm sure. Good on you for sorting through all the threads, updates and changes on the MEM forum! Charlie

    EDM (Ben Fleming design)

I think you cursed me ... I did in fact break a 2-56 tap this morning! First one in years. (Probably should have replaced it a long time ago.) It must be the first version of the book. Copyright 2005; 4th printing.

    EDM (Ben Fleming design)

Anyone want to "have a play" with an EDM to the Ben Fleming design? I built one a number of years ago. It has been used a couple/three times but is sat on a shelf since. Need to start moving on things I don't use anymore... I'd rather not ship it but will willing hold it until you can arrange...

    Tips/Techniques Hand Cleaner Experiments

Worx for me too! I even splashed out for a wall mounted dispenser with "commercial" sized bottle. A little goes a long way and it doesn't damage the skin. Together with the Lee Valley surgical brushes, it hasn't been foiled yet.

    Members non stock cars

No pictures but wanted to join the fun anyway ... goodness knows where any old pictures got to. My first car was a '69 Camaro that I put a B-Modified stock car engine into. (Large valves, Holley 4 barrel, heavy clutch, etc., etc.) It sure would rev! "Everyone" was building V8s - had to be...

    Magic Potion Section

Nice printed accessories. Not going to guess about the height difference though 'cause it will still work fine. (If it was my shop, it would be sitting on swarf!) About an oil can that works ... the only one I've been extremely happy with is a Reilang. By one or more when young and your...

What a difference 8 minutes can make

Thanks for sharing all your stories! I can't believe the number of folks "blind in one eye and can't see out the other" out there. At least now I'm not quite as concerned about a cataract developing in my only useful eye. Being a life long wearer of eye glasses, vision has always been precious...

    Donkey Engine Model

Been away on our version of a camping trip (i.e. trailer in a provincial park) ... thanks for stepping in "jorogi" on the S-39 model identification. It is one of my favourites. "Yotabota" - I haven't decided if I'll steam the donkey engine (perhaps one day). I did set it up and test it for...

Getting back into RC flying (maybe)

Between old age and regulations was there anyone left to answer?
