    SM 10" Utilathe tweaks

Are you planning on keeping the CX706? If so I'd plan to keep the Utilathe fully manual. Yes, DRO and 3PH+VFD are a must in my books. Does it have a quick change tool post? Other tweaks are locks and stops on the carriage if not present. As for quieting the gearbox, I need to find a solution...

    Design/G Code software

The machine you have doesn't have a tool changer so no real reason to create complete programs with the tool changes included. You need to touch off your new tool before continuing as the collet doesn't repeat in Z. When posting the different ops from Fusion, just give them prefixes for their...

    Car designs suck

I used to travel for work a lot and rented many cars. I got to know which brands had interiors that were more durable. Chrysler were not in the top rankings, pieces would always be falling off on those cars. Toyota were durable but plain, Ford were ok, better than GM. Jeep were terrible (...

    Weiss VM32 CNC Conversion

If you can get past the hurdles of installing and configuring Linuxcnc then go for it, and just never, ever update. Or path pilot which is Linuxcnc that's been made friendly to use, but maybe not install and configure on a non Tormach machine. Path pilot Usb stick is $40, I'm thinking it's a...

OTTAWA Area - Flat Taper in Mild Steel Plate

I’d look at putting the angle in first on stock that can be held on an angle (face mill or fly cut) then a CNC mill can profile cut it out. A few small holding tabs as it’s getting profiled will keep the small features in place. I might be interested in, but I’m not available to really look...

    Car designs suck

I think you mean no losses due to the throttle at anything less than full throttle, all internal combustion engines have pumping losses.

I'm pausing my real estate search for a few weeks at least, but this thread has been helpful for when I pick it up again.

A near miss and big consequences

I hope I never get shingles, I will be looking into the Shingrix vaccine as soon as possible. 8 out of 10 is pretty high pain I can confidently say, having been there and above 3 times for sure (a bunch of other stories). My dad had a DVT - he was travelling for work and he was lucky he was...
