  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Tips/Techniques Show your shop related 3DP

Staring simple with my 3D printing, endmill & tap organization, and a block to hold the touch probe up and out of coolant spray territory, but still in reach. Currently printing is a tray for the dies. On this one I'm trying to leave some area beside the dies for a label. We'll see how it...

Machine B&S Challenger Surface Grinder - dust collector hookup

I agree with you on not trusting the cheap VFD's - mine are not UL or CSA certified. Knowing me, I'd also end up with a non UL / CSA certified contactor (i.e. cheap Aliexpress) that wants to burn up and would defeat the safety aspect. What I did was change it from hardwired to a plug in...

    Need Fastener Engineer Skill Set

Or, if you can supply studs, why not just supply the right bolts and a few spares so they don't use the wrong ones? My opinion, it probably qualifies as an "engineered" joint (albeit a poor one, also my opinion) when done up as per the manufacture, changing that puts the risk on you so I...

DMC2 Mini Mill - Another build and review

Nice work so far. Are you planning on running Mach3 or something else? Things to watch out for on electrical if I'm remembering correctly is the instructions are all by wire colour, but the wires on my steppers and encoders were different colours than the manual. Maybe wire up just one motor...

I'd be interested, timing is better if not on a long weekend (other plans and activities with family) but otherwise I'm game.

Got a file for the T-slot covers? And what material - regular plastics like PLA and PETG or did you print in TPU?

    JCDammeyer's 42 projects

FWIW - the tool table in PathPilot is the tool length referenced from the spindle nose (positive #). So a small endmill and holder is say 50mm tool length and a large drill chuck and 12mm drill is 180mm tool length. And Pathpilot recommends you to reference the spindle nose before doing any tool...

    JCDammeyer's 42 projects

TBH this is one of those things that drove me crazy with LinuxCNC. There are 2 "touch off" commands (work and tool), and as far as I was concerned, they seemed broken but I always assumed I was the fault. Could never get it to work how I thought it should. The fact that it just works in...

    Novakon NM-200 upgrade from mach3

I bought the stick from Studica, no Tormach SN required (at least I don't remember providing it).
