    CNC Router alignment

I've had the ball screw thrust nuts come loose and also the ball nut mounting bracket bolts. I would think this would show up when you check the backlash, but worth a check.

The “free” First LC-1 1/2 VS Mill

The “free” First LC-1 1/2 VS Mill

Tips/Techniques What is your favourite part of a project?

I've always had trouble getting the last 5% done. I'm trying something new, which is to visualize the end, paint, latches, covers etc. when I'm planning and not just the get it working part. I usually lose interest once I get to the point that I visualized when I was lying awake at 3:30am...

Clearpath Servo Motor and Accessories $500

Rauce, I have nearly the same motor and am just about ready to try it out on a milling machine as a spindle. When you say "doesn’t seem to play nice with drive systems that have varying mechanical advantage" what do you mean? Thanks

You know you better slow down when...

Mine got it in 2 today, took me 4. Toronto Builder, those were all good words. Do you guys ever pick words just to weed out letters? I do it often, but I'm not sure if it is a good strategy.

Clearpath Servo Control, Manual Lathe Spindle.

I think those mode choices are only for the MCVC. The engineer at clearpath talked me into to it when I said that sure someday I would like to do rigid tapping. I'll figure it out and will be a better maker as a result.
