  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     I'm no metallurgist but I would guess that your over stressing the main tube beyond its capabilities. A couple possible solutions would to replace the tube with a thicker walled version. Increase the length of the block to spread the stress over a larger area. Wrap the tube with a larger tube...

    I would think the flux acts similar to the grinding dresser and dislodges metal fragments and exposes new disc material. As I said I've done this in a pinch. A wheel dresser is a preferred method but is not always available in the field. This will also work on a grinder disc but to a lesser degree.

    I've used International products where I used to work. . We erected steel for under ground crushers. The paint was a 2 part epoxy very durable and easy to apply by brush. I'm sure it could be sprayed. I don't know the cost of the product but probably not cheap. I went back to the crusher...

    We have a local sharpening company here in Sudbury. I brought some end mills and annular cutters to them to see what they could do. The results were great. I was charged $10.00 each. It's not worth me buying the kit, then learning how to use it and probably ruin several end mills in the process.
