  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     That is the same VFD I have and it has been a great unit. Can't believe the price. I think I paid that much in USD when I bought it five years ago.

    The other place to look for motors is at an auction sale. I just picked up two Baldor motors, 2 hp three phase 240/480V and a 180V DC 2 hp motor for less then $50 including tax and fees.

    I feel your pain. Unfortunately in large organizations it is easier to put a rule/standard/practice/procedure in place then dealing with the root cause. I call them stupid bugger rules.

    OZ25 collets

    I have a set as well and have no issues with them and found collets on Albaba to fill out the set. The strange thing is that it is an inch set and I also have ER32 collets in metric.

    The best way to think about this is that anything metal should be bonded. If the boxes you are using are metal, skin the PVC jacket back 4 to 5 cm so the connector is on the metal shield this bonds it to the box. Use the bushing if you are using plastic boxes.
