  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Powder Coating Places in Calgary?

The one place I've been in contact with is rockyford distributors.. I cannot recall the dudes name who owns it but he seemed really good and they do runs all the time. They make and sell railing spindles and have a VERY large oven.. I think it was expandable up to 40 feet? I haven't actually...

2 HP motor and VFD for 2x72

The wiring is straightforward.. the setup is the real pain sometimes.

2 HP motor and VFD for 2x72

That changes it a little. The other thing with a lot (maybe all?) VFD's is they tend to let you have an external speed adjustment or the entire panel can be mounted away from the actual vfd.. might help you locate it somewhere it won't get hurt and still have control.

2 HP motor and VFD for 2x72

I'm not in the states.. I'm in Calgary.. On of my friends has built 2 now, he just made a cover for the vfd and I don't recall it having any issues. It's more important to have a sealed motor than anything else as that's the first thing to get wiped out.. You can get it shipped to just south of...

2 HP motor and VFD for 2x72

I haven't done it (yet) but I know a lot of people who have bought from automation direct. I've got like 3 motors that need vfd's so I am planning on going through them.. may be a good option. I think I might have a 2hp 208v kicking around I could sell you if you don't want to go new.

Another "What has Josh been up to" thread

Nicely done, its hard to get things organized in a way that works for you and fits your space. Now that you're pretty much done that, I've got about a thousand pounds of hardware that I could use a hand with...

CNC Plasma Cutting - Part Warpage

I'd agree with @CalgaryPT, that is a small deviation for the distance. I would be interested if the material had that bend, since 3/8 isn't very likely to warm unless you're putting a lot of heat to it for a long time. I can say I've cut 3/8 and 1/2 without any warping but I may be running...

AXA VS BXA Fitting on lathe.

IDK if you ordered already but I would check the toolholder dimensions and make sure that your tools will be below centerline with whatever you order.. some people who have ordered toolposts that were not the right size have had to trim their cross slides or build an adapter to get it over far...
