    Failed Shim Punch Project

The taper needs to be there or you're going to continue to have some serious issues. Die work requires a high degree of precision. I still think for what you're doing a lathe like the video I posted above would be a better option unless you're making 1000 a day forever. If you're intent on...

    $750 lathe

Old and heavy, not huge. It'd be a good workhorse for larger short pieces due to its limited spindle speed but a steal of a deal at 750. If I had space it'd be mine. LeBlonde lathe...

    Failed Shim Punch Project

I'm not sure that this has come up but you will need to grind the od of the punch tool with back relief and the face with a concave(I think I've got it right, center needs to be back from the rim) as well. Then you pretty much have to do the inverse to the plate that it mates with. The idea is...

    Need Tool Steel Calgary Area

Finding square tool steel like that would probably be pretty expensive. It's doable but you're likely better off to look for 4140. I doubt you want more suggestions that are not what you're wanting to do but.. I'm going to give you an option that may work for you and is a good one to have in...

    Automatic holder on CNC lathe.

To me it sounds like a ballscrew moving.. I think the retract is just a normal x retract. I think the fancy tool holder you're looking at just turret.

Looking for 35mm (1-3/8) ID, thick walled tubing (steel or aluminum)

I just looked, he pieces I though might be close are actually 1.75in ID. The only thing I have is solid which sounds like it's not much of an option for what you're doing. You should be able to find mechanical tubing or DOM in something close to that.

Looking for 35mm (1-3/8) ID, thick walled tubing (steel or aluminum)

I'll look when I get a chance.. I may have a piece you could use in my material pile. Should be able to check today.

Looking for 35mm (1-3/8) ID, thick walled tubing (steel or aluminum)

I just bought 6' of 4140HT 3.750 OD X 2.000 ID from encore. Was ready in 2 days I think and ran me about 500.. same piece at metal supermarkets was like.. 1500? And it would've somehow taken them a week or more to get it. I don't know that they deal in more exotic non-ferrous metals but I did...

If they're actually vector drives I might be interested in one or two. You have a manual and rough idea of price?
