    Identifying an odd thread.

On mine, the instructions say to drill and roll pin. I used red locktite. On mine, there was only one option for clocking it. It only fit one way. For shimming, you can feel when it's too tight and too loose. It definitely takes some playing around because the shaft isn't free to rotate so...

    Identifying an odd thread.

When I started installing my knee power feed, It was pretty late on a weekend night. So there may have been a beverage or two involved. Since this thread keeps popping up, it has jogged the fuzzy memory. I got an adapter with the Align power feed kit. I didn't fit. I measured the thread that I...

    Vertical Band Saw

I used a 2hp motor with a VFD and it's been great. I've never needed more speed range. With the 2 speed gearbox I still have pretty much the full range of speed as when it was stock. I got my tires from here: https://sgtool.com/product-category/urethane-band-saw-tires/

Tool Anyone own a metal cutting circular saw?

I have a Steelmax. Its been great, but I really only use it on long cuts on sheet material because I have torches/chopsaw/bandsaw for shorter cross cuts.. Same blade for 10 years, still going strong, probably 400'-500'ish on 1/8 to 3/8" steel and aluminium. Wear FULL PPE, don't skimp. It...

How to stop your android phone spying on you

I was in the shop the other night, alone, sorting hardware, and I noticed I was low on 1/4 20 nutserts. I went to add them to my stock order, but before i could, I had ads for nutserts. Nobody was in my shop and not a word was said about them. I do have Starlink. Is Elon in my brain? I...

    Vertical Band Saw

I have a DoAll 1612U that was also 550v when I got it. I swapped to a 2hp 230v 3phase motor and VFD, and ditched the reeves drive entirely. The VFD is able to control the speed well enough. I am using the original motor pulley and the original large pulley on the gearbox. I'm using a flat 6 rib...

    Identifying an odd thread.

When I put the power feed on the knee of my mill, the adapter that came with the Align kit would not fit. I recall making my own and having to do it twice because it was a metric dia with an imperial thread pitch, or something like that. My first encounter with an old British lathe where I...

    VFD went nuts!

The drive in my mill, a Parker Spindleblok uses a windows based config program called sbconfig. This is the only way to adjust parameters in fact. There's no LCD on the drive at all, nor any buttons. Many other drives have similar programs.

These weigh 4200lbs. Put it 6" in the ground and it'll take a big hit to move it.
