  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     I did one too, and wished i did tree supports, on build plate only. It was a bit of a nightmare to get all the support material out.

    You can also try tree supports, which sometimes solve problems. The 'on build plate only' option is worth looking at depending upon the design. When changing filaments, you can flush into infill to save filament and time. Don't do this with support filament. Saved many hours on a complex...

    Pla doesn't like to be printed at 100% infill from what I have experienced. Petg is fine with it. Gyroid infill pattern at 75% would probably work better, from my experience. You can also try increasing the wall loops and decrease the infill.

    The barcode on the spool is a thing of beauty. You load it in and Bambu studio knows what it is and adjusts all the settings/imports the filament profile. It really works well, but of course, only if you buy the filament from them. I literally had prefect prints every time using Bambu filament...

    I have a master machine builder square/level that most haven't seen. Accurate to 0.1mm/meter, which is 1.2 thou/ft. My Starret 12" master level is 5 thou/ft so it's a lot finer of a resolution. It's also dead square, and heavy, so handy for checking machine axis for square with indicators...

    I can't wait to hear your impressions of the X1C. It's the only printer i've touched so i know nothing, but aside from something that can print an infinite size, or metal printing, I can't really see wanting much more.

    It will break, if its a good wrench. Propane heat will probably prevent breaking though. Get it as hot as you can.
