  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Headstock Bearing Races

I've never done one, assume its this main spindle bearing? Does it remove towards the tailstock end? Wouldn't it be easier to make or scrounge a metal 'puck' or even a bar slightly under bearing OD & screw jack it out with standoff blocks - basically a bearing puller?

    Zenair CH601HD

That sounds like Versatube which is softer alloy that lends itself to (bending/conforming) tubing in particular. But its not as strong as other common structural alloys. 3003=22ksi, 6061 = 35-40 ksi, 2024 = 60 ksi https://www.aircraftspruce.ca/catalog/mepages/3003versatube.php?clickkey=17152

0.3mm is a tiny stroke. What sort of maximum pressure do you figure the pump would see?

    Tips/Techniques ER20 collet rack

That was my state of affairs too. I printed by collet block to suite a standard box size I have. What nice is if you are sizing something to the collet you just go across the array to one that fits. In hindsight I made the tray too big for number I have so I printed one half the size with closer...

    Tips/Techniques ER20 collet rack

I considered a plate style like that for my ER16 rack (which is how I used to make my plywood racks). But then it occurred to me when you CAD it as a 'solid' the 3DP is basically a shell with infill material. The infill doesn't add much material or print time but gives the tray a lot of...

    Spindle square

My method is quite rudimentary but seems pretty accurate. I just grip my Noga arm with 10ths DTI in the quill chuck. I set my finest Chinese parallels on the table either side of quill (even with mill vise on the table) to the extent of the arm & indicate off the top surfaces swinging the arm...

Is There A Local SS Compression Spring Source (only need half dozen)

Digikey.ca carries quite a few styles. There shipping is awesome but usually it takes a min$ to make it worthwhile. https://www.digikey.ca/en/products/category/springs/3004

    Small Injector Pumps

Yes, I saw that video too. The Chinese tabletop engines draw some comments both positive & negative. In some cases they look 'remarkably similar' to well known home shop designs with no credit to the designer, so there's that. Others designs are unique & even innovative in some respects. Some...

    Conditioning belts for belt sander

Yes, that's what I need to check too just eyeballing the thickness. @Arbutus Yes they are more for blending & surface texturing. There is a possibility of losing dimensional control. Kind of a niche tool. I have a Milwaukee 3/8 band cordless band sander with an assortment of these belts &...

    Small Injector Pumps

Roger B on the MEM forum has been making great progress using what I consider quite modest machines & tooling. I don't follow the posts & progress it as closely as I should, but I'm quite sure he has a running proof of concept engine. Now onto more tweaks & improvements...
