Tips/Techniques Show your shop related 3DP

You know those instrument battery covers with the slot? Yes, the slot made to no particular standardized width, each one is a bit different. Maybe they are based on Asian coins because Canuck coins aren't much better fit than stamped metal ones assuming one was included. I just 3DP'd as set in...

Benchtop Hobbing Machine - The BHM

VERY impressive! Is it all your own design? So are the Delrin gears just testing out the machine capabilities or are you kind of limited to softer materials? I should just ask the question this way - could you also cut brass for example?

    Tool DCMT & brass

Turning brass makes everyone look like a hero, but I just had to snap a pic of my well used, uncoated AliExpress DCMT 0.2R, cutting 0.020" DOC passes. Makes these these nice uniform swarf cuttings.

    Tool Needing a press

Q1) Dumb question but what is the driving parameter that defines the rated capacity of these rack & pinion style presses? Example a 1-ton is 2000 pounds. Is that the maximum shear force of the engaged pinion teeth? I cant imagine the say 1"x1" solid steel arbor is anywhere close to failing or...

    Product Anchor Lube...

I've been been using Tapmatic Cream for fussy drilling & tapping in aluminum & gummy alloys. It works quite well. It stays on the tool as opposed to dripping off & you can feel less cutting resistance. A tube will last me a lifetime. It might be similar to Anchorlube, I think both are water...

    3DP pens

Rather than toss a few collecting rolls with a couple meters of filament left, I got looking at 3DP pens. They look kind of cheap & mostly what I see is scribble art, maybe suggesting lack of control. Could one for example weld parts together in certain applications or any other useful purpose...
