  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Things that break

Here, this might help you destroy them faster....I'd love a set of these. I have their meatcrafter and it's a thing of beauty and incredible sharpness. https://www.benchmade.com/collections/cutlery/products/table-knife-set?

Yeah no thanks, the filament itself might be food safe, but 3d printing inherently leaves voids (ie the infill) where you can't clean that will grow bacteria.

Shouldn't 3d print, there isn't a food safe 3d printed material available for the average home printers.

Dishwasher detergent is slightly abrasive and will wear the knife...I will throw the cheap steak knives through, but any of my actual kitchen knives won't go through.

Knives should only be hand washed without dunking...anyone that does otherwise probably also has the dullest crappiest knives ever and will come nowhere near mine.

    Tool Oxy propane torch

Needs a different regulator for the propane, different hoses (T I believe?), and different torch heads...almost better off just buying a whole new outfit for it.

Tips/Techniques Workshop Organization- things that have made a difference for you

Count the lumens! I love it bright, it's nice not always having to get supplemental lighting to see what I'm doing...more so working on vehicles than machining, but every bit helps.

    What to drink?

CC12 - really smooth, easy drinking, actually one of my faves, much better than regular CC - neighbours bought me the first bottle and I'm hooked CR - well, everyone knows this one Gretzky - with gingerale and lightly poured is a nice taste surprisingly, but def not good by itself Signal Hill -...

Have you tried the CC 12 year though? Big difference over regular CC. I will add some Gibson's to the shopping list for next time.
