  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Damascus Steel

Nice profile! Can't wait to see the product! Are you invested in the knife company, or just cutting the blanks for him? Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

    Damascus Steel

I talked to a blacksmith recently who said he actually uses cable, bike chains, etc. to make Damascus. It's already a bunch of layers, so it apparently goes pretty quickly. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

    Aluminum Carts

As long as you get a high enough quality bit it should be fine. Never done it before myself, though. Why don't you just put a radius endmill in the mill? Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

    Milling vise tune up

WOW, that vise was out by a mile! Funny how they clearly stole some styling points from Kurt, but apparently threw the quality in the trash. :P I recently picked up a couple of VERY large milling vises off of Kijiji just because they were so cheap I figure I can flip them. I'm going to look into...

    Interesting Read

I just read this article and thought I should share it. Fixing electronics isn't something I normally do since my knowledge of all things sparky is next to none (give me moving pieces of metal any day) but thinking back about the amount of expensive electronics that I've just dropped at the...

Would this work (and other questions from a complete noob)

@Alexander he's looking to part-off chunks it sounds like. @Wyldeside if you set it up properly and the materials are smalls and thin (and not steel) disastrous? No. Kill your drill? Absolutely. There are other ways to cut the materials that would work better and just require some de-burring...

What keeps me busy (Picture heavy)

Realistically my fall was entirely to blame on the boots and my extreme lack of grace. [emoji14] But it severed every ligament in my shoulder and actually sheared a chunk of bone off the back of the humerus. So I reserve the right to be a huge pansy scaredy-cat. I'll for sure keep the pics...

What keeps me busy (Picture heavy)

Looks awesome, @Jwest7788 ! Funny story about epoxied floors though; many years ago I dislocated my right shoulder mountain-biking. After that it came out more often than I would have liked, but I was always able to just shove it back in (much to everyone else's disgust) But then one day I was...
