  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    Thanks PeteT! I don't have a pressure pot but then again I don't really cast anything bigger than that cabochon. I'm sure it would benefit from it though. My pal makes custom fishing rods and casts larger blanks for the reel seats and uses a pressure pot. Saying it's essential to the outcome...

    Agreed Susquatch! The middle file is a PDF. Shows the length at 70mm so it could be spun on the lathe and trimmed out on the mill in the Rotab! All that said I'm not the guy, have enough on my plate.

    Lucky guy on the new shop! I plan to build as well but only after we move (looking after my parents) then I plan to move closer to where I hunt and fish! I like your layout and the in-floor heating is a great idea too. Having everything under one roof would sure be nice. Keep posting pics!

    Ridiculous! I've had them charge me other outlandish line items and if you call to ask them why they are usually quick to say, "we will drop that charge for this time" :rolleyes: so I think they must push what ever the customer will bear, unless you challenge them.
