  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     It gets a bit confusing - On my mill X is along the table and Y is across. On the lathe X is across or the diameter and z is along the bed. When you move from one machine to another you have to pay attention.

    I found an easy way to put a DRO on the tail stock. Works well for me and it works in imperial and metric .

    I have seen pictures of it and the geared belt setup looked good. Also somewhere there was a conversion to convert the gear head mill to the geared belt drive. I don't know where to find that now. It was quit a while ago.

    I agree. Good choice. Some of us with the CX601 machines have had troubles in the gear area. To keep it alive you need to tip the head over to access an inspection cover at the back to grease the gears from time to time. Then of course you have to retram the head afterwards.

    Does it come with the power cross feed already mounted on the machine ? It looks identical to the one I put on my CX601.
