    The Faller Came Early

Sort of. General rule of thumb is the notch is the direction you want it to go. Which is what he did. The wedge might open up the back cut 1", but that might've moved the top mass 2-3 feet, so even though it's leaning slightly over the house it wants to fall into the notch. Him leaving more...

    The Faller Came Early

Actually, that video does a great job of showing what he's thinking. Put the notch in, looked like he hit it with the axe to knock it out. Set his back cut height while he's by the notch. Went to the left to start the back cut. Set the wedge with a couple taps so it wouldn't pinch the bar, kept...

I've read that too, we were the only ones to achieve our landing and objectives I'll leave it to the mods- if this can be a neutral topic then that's great. I fully support honouring our history and our veterans, but, I didn't intend to make this a forum topic. My family served as well and I'm...

My 9000 pound F350 played with a mustang north of Wilmington NC and the mustang backed out of it. And yes I was running a radar detector but we easily hit a dollar, mph. Not 1/4 mile sure but the pickups can move

Tools you waited too long to acquire

Picked up the green roll of punches last year. Then that little punch on the left a couple weeks ago. The retired guy running the truck said you should only use a hammer proportional to the size of the punch. He said most of his career was spent teaching guys how to use the tools correctly

    Spring is Here!

yes, thankfully we only haul large squares on open deck. Personally I liked small squares and being in the mow of a barn. Good times and harvest meals were divine. I'm looking forward to my rocking chair at the nursing home to tell these stories

Anyone know there way around O/A torch brands?

I run oxy-propane for the most part. I have a smaller oxy-acet rig I inherited which is nice for finer work. As others have mentioned the torch handles can get loose after using them awhile and it's annoying when you bump them. I want to say mine are Harris but I'd have to look.
