  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     You don't need pilots until certain dimensions are met. But states/provinces can give you speed restrictions without needing pilots, and it has nothing to do with weight, for permit loads. Michigan actually cut me back on overall weight allowed while still limiting top speed, on a permit load...

    I'm not advocating for running red lights- but - I was taught in a large truck it's better to run the yellowish/slightly red light because hard braking might shift the load on the trailer, or it might put me stopped in the middle of the intersection and cause confusion

    Agreed. There was a police vehicle stolen somewhat recently, and someone was aghast that could happen (officer left it running to respond to something). Last I checked it was already illegal to commit grand theft auto so.... Our problem, as I see it, is lack of enforcement and a court system...
