  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Make them honor it. You have a contract. You can also contact these guys: https://www.ontario.ca/page/consumer-protection-ontario I had a similar thing happen once when I paid by CC and they charged "new" price - a dispute with CC resolved this and I got a refund and they paid a fine to CC...

    Testing can be played with - see range of electric cars - claimed, tested by government and then tested by different people in real life. We can have discrepancies of 20% or more! Heck some car maker from Germany even had a "test mode" - so their cars look great on tests...

    I do keep about 500 brand new taps of various sizes - would people be interested in these since somehow there is huge interest in M8? Or is it the metric that is drawing a crowd? Don't want to go through my inventory make pictures, post a separate thread just to find out no one cares.

    I just use these mats you buy to relive pain of standing in the same place. I have like 10 of them now. Also my floor is insulated with about 2in of Styrofoam. I would look into gas furnace to lower costs ... but installation is very expensive. Diesel heaters don't need to run on diesel...

    Yet another 72 x 2 grinder

    Works quite well too - just have to learn the machine. The belt needs to be much tighter than I would have thought. The tighter the belt the more smoothly it works.
