    Visiting China

No chaperone at all - you can enter the city and go anywhere within it - I did. You can fly anywhere as well. Do you think they escort you on a plane? Who would pay for the ticket! Heck I even slept in an airport in China (domestic). In the morning the cleaning ladies all lined up like an army...

    Visiting China

To get initial visa can be a hassle - I also needed a letter - about 6 years ago. But once you get a visa its relatively free, and stays that way for 10 years. I do not see anything different from tourist visa vs. say business visa as far as following around goes - would all spies come as...

    Visiting China

When you land, you pick up your bags, go to immigration counter, show passport with valid visa, get it stamped. They take biometric info off you like pictures. They ask for purpose of your trip. Visiting China

Ummm, that is not true at all. Once you get Chinese visa you just go to a counter anytime you are in the area, show passport, get it stamped, get picture taken and can go into China. Done it twice. It is very similar to entering US. Visa is for 10 years or validity of the passport. There is no...

    Brazing Cast Iron

Since this is cosmetic - not load bearing I would do the following: 1. stop the crack with a hole 2. either silver soldier it or braze it or weld it with high chromium electrode 3. clean all paint up, sand all welded spots flat, use a filler for any parts that have dents 4. Repaint Definitely...

    Tool Copper vise jaws

What would be advantage of copper jaws over say aluminum jaws? My favorite vise uses thick home made aluminum jaws. I did use some pieces of copper from pipe before.

    Craftex Metal Lathe CT089

It is a bit "bare bones" lathe - its a repainted 089 lathe I used to have. Motor has been upgraded - and could actually go up to 2hp the original 1hp was anemic. Change gears. No cross feed and only horizontal feed with lead screw. Few speeds. Its a good basic lathe. Price for it was...
