  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Basic idea is just to at least use calipers and measure the distance between blades, but that seems to be rather... not so accurate.     I just went with large horizontal saw - universal - I think mine is like 18". Through it cuts wood more often then metal (!) Its good at cutting plate / odd things that don't fit into vertical saw. Use it often. The only machine I have that is native 600v.

    Something does not add up - I have similar machine - same color - NMTB40, but all NMTB40 machines that I know off had 5hp motor and a larger table. Also 3500 lbs. Could this be NMTB30? Just remove the business end and see what is there and measure it.

    So here is practical test - put the motor on your desk, connect power. Let it get to full RPM over a second or two. Now disconnect power. Does it vibrate? If yes, it suggests a bearing or simialr mechanical issue is the problem. If not, then its electromagnetic issue - such as uneven air gap.
