    Fuel cell mounting cage

I didn't build the tank itself, it's a 15 US gallon unit made by RCI, 20"x18"x10". No baffles in it. I did add a drop tube on the return to prevent aeration of the fuel and added an elbow to the pickup to have it draw from the bottom of the tank. If fuel sloshing ever proves to be an issue, I...

    Fuel cell mounting cage

The tank and lower cage will be removable with just the four bolts securing them to the top frame which I plan to weld in place

    Fuel cell mounting cage

I decided to upgrade the plastic fuel cell in my 79 Mustang to an aluminum one and to drop the tank lower in the trunk to situate the weight lower down and to free up a bit of room in the trunk for an occasional bag or such to be stowed in it. I welded up the frame in two main pieces as I was...

What Projects Are You Considering This Winter?

Well, not a winter project, but working on an aluminum luggage plate for my motorcycle. Also will be working on swapping out the plastic fuel cell in my Mustang for an aluminum one with a welded steel mounting cage. Most of my major winter projects are woodworking ones. I hope to get started...

    Stop dropping nuts & washers

I've also used a wrap of duct tape sticky side out on the end of a finger or other object to hold a nut. If you fold the strip in half you get two sticky sides so it stays on your finger.

    Stop dropping nuts & washers

I have one too and have used it a couple of times. Handy so long as the fastener is ferrous.

    Daily Shop Improvement

I have the older version of that opener on my garage addition door. Its a high lift door to clear my car lift, so a conventional opener would not work. If I had to replace the opener on the other door I would not even consider a conventional opener and would use one of these on it too. The...

    Craftex CX601 DRO instal

Looks very similar to my own setup. I only went with a two axis as I saw no use for the third. I do use the readout on the quill as well.
