    Suggestion for a repair.

A Helicoil would not work due to the set screw, but your idea of a bushing is perhaps on the right track. Instead of pressed in, make it threaded. You could go up one size and use a fine thread to keep as much thickness in the bushing.

1965 El Camino 327 engine project

Those old heads of all types got to be valuable in the early 80s. Chevy went to a lightweight casting and almost two out of every three heads we saw were cracked and unusable. I needed to pick up a piece of brass a couple weeks ago and was not aware of the policy until I saw the sign on the door. Called the number and five minutes later they handed me my brass rod out back.

    Straight edge ethical question

You may want to try marketing it to woodworkers. I have a 36" straight edge that I use to periodically check or adjust the alignment of my jointer tables as do others I know of.

New kid in town - and it looks pretty good.

Nice, may have to check this out. I need some aluminum sheet soon for a planned project. Does he have brass? I need a bit of brass flat bar and round for some furniture hardware.

    Fuel cell mounting cage

Finished up this project with the installation in the car. This is the plastic tank I wanted gone. The old base pan I'd put in place of the spare tire well The new support frame and filler pieces all welded in. The finished installation. Bottom view
