    bronze bushing question

Interesting thought on the tranny. If my old memory works, I heard the New Process 435 came out in '54. I had one in my '74 W200 Power Wagon, the last of the bush pigs. Heavy cambered front axle , a gear drive transfer case and front drums. You had to down shift if you wanted to use the brakes...

A near miss and big consequences

I feel for you. After my surgery, I had weight restrictions too, but nothing like yours. The worst of it I couldn't drive my p/u, the clutch was too heavy. I found that annoying. That means we will be getting more of your advice and input !! From our point of view, a good. Be careful

My brother had one. I think the CDN had a larger engine, the Canadian long block flathead.

    CBN Wheels

I found wood chisels and plane irons are best reshaped on a belt sander. I use a Veil 1"x42" that Lee Valley sells. I use a reversible 1/4hp motor. on it. I made up a jig for that. But when I want a quick edge, I use a 1000grit belt followed by a hard felt strop with Lee Valleys green crayon...

    CBN Wheels

Since my 1/2 hp Wissota grinder is 7", Baltic Abrasives made them for me. Great service. My wife's Rock and Gem club uses their diamond lapidary wheels. They never need dressing. But they are heavy requiring a good grinder. They also spin forever.

    CBN Wheels

I had changed my 7" bench grinder over to CBN wheels , a 80grit and a 320grit . I just ground a 55* Whitworth threading bit. I was going to rough it out on the bench grinder and finish up on my Toolmaker surface grinder. I hit the point, bang on according to thread gauge. After the hours of...

    bronze bushing question

Oilites are sinsistered . I installed them on the spring eyes of my 1958 utility trailer for wet bolts.I got tired of replacing the plastic bushings so I installed greasables. I found them to a little bit fragile but I was machining them to fit. They are cheap at PA.

    I need a nut

Metric standards weren't agreed upon until 1971 ! Even now I find 12mm and 18mm nut and bolt heads instead of the proper 13mm and 19mm.

A near miss and big consequences

My wife is on blood thinners after a couple ER visits . After her cancer, not that was not unexpected. With Warfren (sp) , she had almost weekly blood tests. The other blood thinner works differently and needs fewer tests . My blood tests are only semi yearly. This getting old business involves...
