  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Tool holders for AMMCO Shaper

Yes sir, I think you have the jest of it.... It's not the perfect tool for every occasion, but it is my go to set up for most operations. I wish I could remember who's YouTube channel I stole the idea from so I could give credit where it's due..... Shaper Andi used to have some pretty cool...

    Tool holders for AMMCO Shaper

Maybe you can see what is going on better with this picture. The hss is out of what I call the "sled". The sled is just an adapter to fill the space between the hss and the tool post and the tee is just a packing to take up space, the "T" portion just frees up a couple of fingers while setting...

    Tool holders for AMMCO Shaper

On shapers, the lantern style holders that you are looking for are the one for tungsten carbide and are designated with a "T". They have a neutral rake whereas the normal ones have a positive rake built in. I would use 3/8 or 5/16" bits directly in the tool post while you search out some...

I have to confess, I have bought into the Milwaukee lineup. Firstly because I have been fairly impressed with the tools, they have been as good or better than my limited experience with the other brands. And secondly and maybe most importantly I didn't want a bunch of different battery types. I...

New to me Ammco 7" Metal shaper

I doubt it will hurt anything, as you are not likely to push it anywhere near its max and you always start off the work piece and work your way in. I always run a stroke cycle with the power off by pulling the belt to confirm that all is clear prior to hitting the go button.

    Friction belt drive design

I suspect my words sre going to fail me, but here I go anyway. On a garden tractor you will find a belt guide that wraps around the drive pulley. When the drive is disengaged, the belt pushes back against the guide and clears the pulley. If you download a parts diagram of the drive pulley on a...

    Clarification on Classified postings

At this point, I think all of its glory is in the story from what I have seen online and on tv, can't say it even got an honourable mention on my bucket list of things to do and see . :p
