  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Bergonzi U.T.25 Radial Arm Drill - looking for information

Thank you for the pointers. I have spoken to Willis - their 30 year guy had never heard of the "Model UT25" or of anything Bergonzi offered with such a small column. His estimation was that it would be more than 40 years old. I can't find any reference to "Hector Machine Tools" either.

Bergonzi U.T.25 Radial Arm Drill - looking for information

My latest project is resurrecting a small radial arm drill. It came to me as a few large pieces and several boxes of parts (motors off, drill gearing removed). Think - jigsaw puzzle. It is actually coming together pretty well. The transmission shaft that supports the sliding gear had a blown...

Oil can for use with ball oilers

This is a very common thread. I'm sure I have written into it on both HM and PM. The pump oilers are fine most of the time, but I have a few fittings that actually need a bit of pressure to force the oil in. I always made a mess and was never satisfied that I was doing a good job on the...

    Info

I'm with Peter on this one. I have a shop vac (2-1/2" hose) set up right where it can reach most of the machines. I made it easy so I would use it. I have air, but only use it in a very limited way on the machines. I have cleaned up several old machines - with chips deep into very difficult...

    How many lathes and why?

I have two lathes. I splurged hard on the first lathe (nearly 40 years ago) - Enterprise 15x60 - as Dabbler pointed out it is now an "old friend", it is now quite well dressed and certainly the machine I use the most. I wanted to get a smaller lathe because . . . . . (no need to finish that...

    gun drill

Well, when you do get the machine and you need the drills touched up - give me a call. My T&C grinder came with the Eldorado jig - so I sharpened a few GDs for the guys at work (Eldorado has a great web site - walks you through the steps for sharpening). I may never use it again, but it's cool!

    Acme Threads

What are the graduations on the hand wheel (i.e. if it is an even value for the inch advance - then it is imperial). Remember, the advance shown on the dial could be movement of the tool (radius) or change in diameter of the part.

    New member from Thunder Bay

Hi Shawn, welcome to this machining forum. I'm a Lakehead grad - so have enjoyed the hospitality in TB. Hang in there on learning single point threading on the lathe. Think of it as a core competency, that pushes you into learning a number of fundamental lathe operations. I looked at your...
