    BaitMaster’s (Work) Bench

I bought this exact tool to use on my Harrison 13" lathe. It was a 100% disaster. No matter what I tried to part it failed. Eventually the tool broke and it went into the garbage. I then bought a tool from KBC and now lathe parting is easy. Power feed or hand feed it just works. Inserts last...

McMaster Carr no longer integrated with Fusion 360?

I went from solidworks to Fusion 360. I did a few tutorials to get going on it. Then I picked a model steam engine and forced myself to model and assemble every single part in the drawings. From that point on fusion was a lot easier. I also got rid of solidworks to eliminate the temptation to...

McMaster Carr no longer integrated with Fusion 360?

It's not a difficult program to learn. I'll admit I'm a bit behind with some of the recent updates.

    Fusion Tip entering dimensions

Technically yes but with a big but. It supports rotary indexing as is. It will rotate a set number of degrees then stop and execute a tool path. Milling, drill etc. That will work for anything I have planned. If you want the X, Y, Z and A axis to rotate and machine simultaneously then you have...

    Fusion Tip entering dimensions

I had to look up last years bill to see. It's $405 CDN for a year. Not cheap but It's pretty good software. It's not as good as solidworks but the maintenance costs alone for Solidworks would probably be triple the cost for fusion and it includes both CAD and CAM.

    Fusion Tip entering dimensions

I had trouble with Fusion 360 initially. I was going there from solidworks. I 100% got rid of solidworks for 2 reasons. It's too expensive and it was making learning fusion a lot harder. After that fusion was a lot easier to use. As for the price I am what they call an early adopter. The...

Tool End Of An Era - Time For A New Soldering Gun Tip

I have at least one if not two of that type of soldering guns. It gets little use since I bought a Weller soldering station many years ago.

Tool End Of An Era - Time For A New Soldering Gun Tip

In a pinch you can make a DIY tip by bending a piece of 14 gauge solid copper wire to fit and then tinning the end the first time you heat it up.

In the fly reel thread the first two pages are still no good. The pages after that are working fine. Photos are there.

    Chinese end mills

My experience with chinese end mills is don't waste your money on them. Travers tool Canada and KBC tools sell cheap carbide endmills in their flyers. I had pretty good luck with those. Some of them even had names on them from very reputable manufacturers like Yg. I have not bought any of them...
