  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. I thought it might need guides - but no it does not. The counter wt is 225 lb of scrap steel rods. The Z hand wheel now requires about the same effort as the X hand wheel. To avoid repeating myself- see this week's thread "Looking for an appropriate motor" post #27 in the link below or come for...

It's not fixable! You might just as well get rid of it! I'll take it. 8-) That's what friends are for.

You might also like my Z gib locks. After installing the Z counter balance, moving the head up or down was much easier and I could then do it from the front of the machine (using a smaller and faster wheel instead of a large crank). On the Forum we love pictures - post away (also pics often get an interesting discussion started because of something in the background) You will have to deal with the covered-up oiler!! My grandfather was mtce manager at the Silver Bell in Cobalt, the town where my mom was born. My father worked u/g at the 'Bell'. WWII made it a long-distance romance but they married when he returned from overseas. That sort of explains my rocky background and why I ended up a mining engineer...

    Tips/Techniques Thank you thread.

A very big THANK YOU :-) to all those who keep this Forum running/operating so seamlessly/consistently and easy for us like-minded hobby guys to enjoy. I particularly like how easy it is to add a picture to a thread. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. The Forum started in the...

    Rock Tumbler

Tags of all types and sizes have become more common and are much cheaper/smaller. As an aside and rather off-topic comment (unrelated point of interest?): since the late 1970s, all commercial explosives manufacturers have been required to tag their explosive products using nanoparticles...
