New to me Ammco 7" Metal shaper

I have an Ammco 7 inch shaper. The accessories are pretty distinctive looking, as they have a great jeebus bolt sticking out of the bottom to fasten them to the table. That bolt, or stud, as you may prefer, is not actually shown in the manufacturers pictures, but is a solid trigger to get your...

    Cast Bronze Plaques

I cannot point you at any one site specifically, but I would be willing to bet that the Forums that cover CNC routers and the like, would be a good place to start. They may give you leads to possible avenues for making patterns, to, if you do choose casting. What sizes are you considering? How...

    Cast Bronze Plaques

I'm pretty sure they were gone, well before I left Edmonton. When I left Edmonton for Cold Lake, in 2004, there were still two smaller non-ferrous foundries operating. Dunno if either survived the calendar time, but I would suggest contacting any of the Memorials places (gravestones, and the...

    Good, Fast, Or Cheap....

Put a fourth option on it. "Blame someone else". Almost every person that was trying to get all three, was also keen to make it all someone 'else's" fault, when their stupid idea did not bear fruit! The "Someone Else" button, if it's gonna be realistic, should not actually have any interaction...

    Bought a standard modern 11" series 2000

Watch your oil changes. Know a local guy that is looking at a $15k bill to get his tractor back rolling. Kubota!

    5C collet chuck and collets

Interesting... Cannot say as to having ever noticed any listings for LH Thread 5C collets, in all the years I have been drooling over various machine tool suppliers catalogs. Customs from the likes of Hardinge? Who supplies?

    5C collet chuck and collets

Left hand threads? So, a normal 5C collet will not work? May be a limiting factor.

    Bought a standard modern 11" series 2000

Fair warning! You will know you have the disease, when you start buying tools like gantry cranes, hydraulic Pallet dollies, and lusting after a decent forklift, because then you can move the machine tool that you REALLY need, where it needs to be! LOL!

    Bought a standard modern 11" series 2000

Replying to my own post, to add, that the really cheap Chinese HSS bits, are usually a LOT more capable than the guys using them are, which is to say, that if you learn to grind a tool at a price point that does not make you wince when it breaks or goes wrong, you are far more like to carry on...

    Tig torch adapter?

Surprisingly enough, these parts are generally not that expensive in a stocked welding supply place. Last lot of TIG fittings I bought was from (I think) Praxair, in Kamloops, and it really did not seem out of line enough to chase down cheap import stuff.
