  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. USS Missouri machine shop

Pearl Harbor and the Missouri are on my bucket list. My grandfather was on a light cruiser in the war and his boat was one of the first into Tokyo harbor. I still have some of his stuff he brought home, including his deck service uniform. Thanks for sharing the pictures! Is it just me or would...

    Contact angle on wheel bearings

Instead of matching the angles, how about 2 aluminum discs with large radii on them? If the discs are the same OD's as the bearing cups then the radius will have full diameter contact inside the cups on the roller contact surface. Then as long as the center line of the discs is kept center of...

Turns out these four have an end style that I can't use. So, anyone in the greater Edmonton area (or passing through)...

    Giving FreeCAD a Try

Awesome, thank you - I will look into that tonight after the kids are in bed. I was not aware of what kind of things needed adding in as I have very little experience with FreeCAD. I never claimed to be smart, just almost pathologically curious. Often getting me in over my head, lol

    Giving FreeCAD a Try

Hey everyone, after some suggestions I was curious about FreeCAD and if it was any easier to use than the last time I tried it a few years ago. So, I got the latest version and installed it. Still not quite getting the hang of parts of it but I think I'm just too used to Fusion and Alibre Atom...

Just able to revisit the forum, missed it immensely

My wife is a nurse in a neuro ICU, and she has an absolute burden to care for and love on her patients. Most nurses are like that, or else they move on. Indeed there are some who are just there for the money but thankfully they are not the majority. She has an amazing patience for me too, even...
