    Box and Pan Work

Nice boxes! I miss having access to sheet metal machinery, we had shears, brakes, nibblers, spot welder, etc. at the school where I taught. Was very handy having access to that sort of stuff.

    Bending a wrench

I usually get mine from garage sales, pawn shops, places like that. Made a few specially bent wrenches over the years, especially 15mm box ends bent 90 degrees for 5.9/6.7 Cummins turbo nuts, and 90 degree 9/16" box ends for Dodge transfer case nuts. Only issue I had was that they evaporated...

    Bending a wrench

I've got a number of "special" wrenches . . . Cut, bent, welded, etc from years of being a mechanic. Never tested strength against a new one though. Got a bin of "sacrificial wrenches and sockets" in the bottom drawer of the tool box just for that purpose.

info on a King PDM-30 drill mill

Bummer, I was kind of hoping you would get it. The RF-30 clones are quite handy machines once you get to know their quirks, and there are usually ways to work around the quirks. Probably would have still kept mine if I had room at the time.

Copying lathe parts for my new friend in Alabama

Those are awesome, and very cool you could do fitup checks on your machine to verify before shipping. Cool of you to help the fellow out, I agree it's a shame to tear apart and part out or scrap something that could be fixed and put back into service.

    KC1236 thoughts

Hi Proxule, I have owned a KC1236 for a few years now. It does not have a spindle brake like it sounds on the PM machine. As for the cross slide and compound, they are not scraped but machined. And yes, it will cut pretty much any sane inch-based thread pitch with gear changes only required...

    Yesterdays Project A Fuel Pump

Good idea for repurposing that pump. At the truck shop I was at we had a Ford 6 liter fuel pump that we used for the same purpose but it had its quirks. Hopefully you have one of those special quick connects to attach right to the filter housing on a number of truck engines. The worst I've ever...
