  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. LMS thread hole chart re metric

Never used the Tallenbuch Metall, but have the 29th MH and used the charts in it a few times for threads. For most of my fit work, because even though I can do the wire calculation but am a tad lazy, I use the Theoretical Machinist calculator. Handy for odd ball threads if you need to use them...

What kind of welding machines you guys have ? Anyone got a Miller multimatic 220?

I've got a Lincoln Square Wave Tig 200 machine, does AC/DC TIG and DC stick. I still suck at TIG, especially aluminum, but got this over a MIG as I wanted to learn to weld aluminum and the fact that TIG doesn't throw sparks, slag and crap all over the shop that is attached to my house. If I...

    ER40 D1-4 Collet Chuck Question

That is an awesome result to get that kind of runout, I've been wanting to have an ER40 collet chuck for the lathe for a while. Been tempted to make one but if the PM units are that good it might be more worth it to save the fun budget shekels and get one of those instead. I burnt up the last...

Anyone Use a Floating Tailstock Die Holder?

I've wanted to make one of these for years now. One advantage of not having a chance to get to it is gathering ideas from others who have, lol . . .

HiBid hacked? Do they have your credit card number?

Interesting, there was going to be an auction at Rainbow in Stony Plain this week, but they postponed it due to "technical problems," this makes more sense. I've bought stuff through Hibid before, so thanks for the heads up to watch my card transactions.

    Shop Floor Brushes?

I just used an old shop vac with the larger hose for the most part in my previous garage, but the floor concrete texture was rough like a sidewalk. The concrete in the new shop is much better and smoother so I'm thinking of having one floor broom dedicated to dealing with metal chips and one for...

Very cool, I can hear your "Christmas morning" giggling while unpacking stuff from here! Nice when a plan comes together.
