    Auction advice.

Far a while there was a guy registered at Mcdougall auctions whose username was Bidding Closed. I'm pretty sure it worked because when I called to complain the guy in the office was pretty upset and nuked him right away. Clever though.

Where are the wildfires up in Canada ?

(Washington, D.C., May 31, 2025) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins today announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service is deploying resources to assist the wildfire response currently impacting Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Alberta, Canada. The...

Where are the wildfires up in Canada ?

Does the NASA map show smoke coverage or air quality? I can't find it. Unless you are in immediate danger from a fire, I find the firesmoke map to be the most useful. We had a window of about 2 hours this morning with no smoke. Perfect time to air out the house and cut the grass, then it closed...

Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan mostly right now. Firesmoke.ca is the forecasting service for smoke dispersal forecasts. Google maps has an air quality index layer as well. I'm southeast of Regina and my air quality index has been 10 for a couple of days now. And 10 is not good.

    UPS gripe

Canada Post and its' subsidiary, Purolator, have around 31% of the package delivery market in Canada. UPS has 28%. Purolator may be the only thing that Canada post makes money on.

Update. Returned the 14 inch hitch extension $54.99. Bought a manual jack for 27.74. About 10 inches shorter and no powerhead on top. Problem solved. Plenty of clearance, Clarence.

No forgiveness needed for giving cautionary warnings. Thanks. The loaded Yukon will weigh around 7500lbs and has a towing capacity of 8500lbs. The trailer is 3800lbs empty and 5400lbs loaded, and it won't be loaded when travelling, so probably 4600lbs max. I've decided I'm not going to go with...
