  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     The milltronics is single phase. That was what first peaked my interest. The seller was willing to deliver and set it up. Overall it has been almost flawless except for breaking a timing belt on the y axis when I overtraveled. The overtravel was definitely my fault, these things happen luckily...

    I am slowly chipping away at my bumper. I am lucky enough to be able to borrow a really good plasma cutter so I am all set now. Today tacked some ends on. I feel I will trim the ends off and then finish welding it.

    @cuslog I am also a Red Seal Journeyman Machinist in calgary. I do a little bit of everything. Most of my experience is CNC.

    Thanks @Dabbler :). My recommendation would be don't buy anything you can't actually see. Allot of shops in calgary will be downsizing or closing in the near future so there are deals to be had. The main issue is anything they have will be 3 phase.

    @Tom O thanks. I may take you up on that. This took a little longer than I wanted it to. But then again I am not a fabricator. I will weld 3 plates in here tomorrow for a cleaner look
