Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Power Drawbar

    My Tormach CNC has a pneumatic drawbar. The R8 collet is gripped using a stack of Bellville washers so it is tightened consistently. Operation is almost silent. Certainly none of the racket of an impact wrench! It does require 125 psi air though. I've seen other examples that use a DC gearhead...

    I just checked. The actual body of my M&W holder is about 3.04 inches long. The screw adds an inch or so depending on the size of the tap being gripped. So 4 inches overall or as you guessed larger than a 174 and considerably smaller than a 91A. I'm jealous and need to find a 174!

    At least my M&W holder has a V in both the body and the plunger. I've had it for decades but I'm unsure when it was made. Perhaps they have changed over the years.
