  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year.     When using thin parallels (I have a 1/32-inch thick and 1/32 width increment set from Accusize) the easiest way to keep them separated and upright is a suitable sized lump of closed cell foam. Keep the packing material from stuff! Cut the foam so that it is a bit shorter than the parallels are...

    The problem is that the lathe centre is about 0.63 or 16mm above the top of the top slide. That means that with a 10mm tool shank there is only 6mm for the shelf of the tool holder under the tool shank + for a little height adjustment room is desirable. I could always mill a bit off the bottom...

    10mm is the max with my QCTP (0xA size) and the available distance between the top of the top slide and lathe centre.
