    Lathe headstock oil question

I hope this is pretty straightforward but oil discussions can be such a can of worms... I need to replenish or replace the oil in my lathe's headstock. The user manual calls for iso vg 32 oil in the headstock (iso vg 68 in the apron, which I already have). I'm led to believe that SAE 10w is...

    First Welder - Yes Welder???

Beautiful work! 6 amps, wow. One of the complaints I've read of the chinese Inverter machines is that they're not very precise at low amps. I can't say I've ever had an opportunity to test that out myself... I first learned to TIG on a Maxstar, a 200DX iirc. That was a sweet machine. If I...

    First Welder - Yes Welder???

I'm a pretty poor hobby welder with aspirations of one day being somewhat better, ha. Many years ago I bought an Everlast TIG welder (which does ac/dc welding, and stick). I've been very happy with it so far, but TIG is pretty fussy and not the best for quickly fabbing up stuff in the home shop...

    First Welder - Yes Welder???

One thing nobody's mentioned is that the YesWelder and multiprocess welders of that type say they do TIG, but it's only 'lift-arc TIG', which isn't ideal imho. If you really want to be proficient with TIG, and especially do low-amp thin metal welding, you really want a high-frequency start machine.

When does it start violating the rules, IF I were to....

Yeah, I figured you'd already seen that one, as well as the Vancouver Colchester posted elsewhere here but figured I'd post it just in case.

    Cross Border Used Equipment Purchases

That was the case when I picked up my lathe on the US side and drove it home. Just paid the GST and PST on the invoice amount and off I went. That's for personal use, mind you. If you buy it as a business entity, I'd imagine there's more hoops to jump through.

    Ex-Cell-O Right Angle Attachment

I wondered if someone here might have picked it up. I tapped out at $125 USD. Yeah, I don't get the USD thing... There looked to be another bidder (in addition to you) still left to drive it up to $200 or whatever. I may yet end up regretting letting it go at that price, ha. If your 40 taper...

Harrison universal milling machine (perfect size for home shop) $1,600

Funny... Ask and the universe provides. I did notice that Keith Rucker posted the very same procedure on his youtube channel yesterday. I'm a long ways away from attempting something like this myself...
