    Do-All 6x12 Surface Grinder for $400 (Kitchener)

Not affiliated in any way. Was just perusing as usual and saw this. Article says "needs a new cross-slide screw", so might need one. Might not. Worth checking out for that price...

    Ontario member sound off

I'm also located in Oakville. I work as a Software Architect during the day, and amateur machinist by night. Not really sure what to expect from a meet-up, though it'd be nice to talk to others who won't roll their eyes every time I bring up machining in conversation. Probably why I have no...

Tons of Drills, Reamers, Taps, and Machine Tools

Tom, sorry. Didn't realize you were so far away. If it's alright with you, I'd rather deal locally and not trade tools for shipping costs.

Tons of Drills, Reamers, Taps, and Machine Tools

Tom, let me know if/when you find something you're looking for. I'd trade for some 4140 HTSR in 6" diameter round stock , and/or square/rectangular stock measuring 3 to 6 on a side. Lately I've been having a hankering to make a collet chuck, precision angle blocks, etc. Where are you located?

    3/8 inch CRS

No, no minimums at all. In fact, they're having a 20-year anniversary raffle. For every as-is (off-cut or end-cut) you purchase, they'll give you a ticket into a raffle to win one of three prizes - $200 off your next purchase, $100 off your next purchase, and $20 off your next purchase. I buy...

Tons of Drills, Reamers, Taps, and Machine Tools

Sure thing. Originally made by Deckel (as far as I know), a "universal" grinder is another name for it. A Motor driving a cup-wheel, with a lower horizontal shaft along which a tool-holder rides, usually comprising a rotating, angled 5C collet holder that can be used to sharpen end-mills, drill...

I use Resource Metals (resourcemetals.ca), located in Oakville. For roundbar, I can't find a better price. No affiliation. Just a good customer. Damn shame they're not open on weekends.

Tons of Drills, Reamers, Taps, and Machine Tools

I bought a bunch of tools figuring I'd pick out the stuff I want and slowly sell off the rest. Here is what I have. I am also willing to trade provided it's in my list, which you can find at the bottom. (Note to admin - sorry, I didn't join to spamvertise my wares. You asked for three posts...

Well, Finally Found a Used Shaper, Took the Plunge

I'm thinking about getting a shaper, but still on the fence. Love that the table can be rotated to an angle; I imagined the smaller shapers have fixed tables and one must incline the work in the vise, rather than rotate the table. Or... (silly question) do all the small ones do that? The only...
