We still have Achinback Foundry in Langford. I have used them a few times. That being said I don't know if they would sell sand. Chris

    The tronxy lives

I thought it was you. Thanks for the lead. Are you using the slicer that came with it? It was an older version. I'm using it for now but setting the nozzle temp to 205, the bed to 65 and the filament retraction to 3mm instead of the default settings. I haven't had to use a glue stick. I do give...

    The tronxy lives

I bought one of those Tronxy X5SA that someone posted about being for sale on Amazon. Is that the one you got? It seems to be working OK. I'm new at 3d printing but I have a pretty good support group when I have questions. Chris

I used 2 1/2" or 3" of copper pipe, stuck it on the wire cable (it was a snug fit), hammered the end flat...

looking for a shop to repair an old bronze hot water tank near Victoria

This is just an idea, but I suspect the problem with the silver soldering is that it ends up on the surface rather than wicking into the pin hole. I wonder if you could use a good epoxy and get a tiny bit of vacuum into the tank to suck it into the pin hole. This could be as easy as warming the...

    Crankshaft repair ideas ?!

Looking at the picture suggests that there is an extension welded on to the original pulley. If this was used with a belt it would have imposed a radial load out past the end of the crank. If you are restoring this engine will you remove that extension from the pulley? If so, you could perhaps...
