Quick and dirty brass pour questions.

I saw it mentioned in another post so I thought I'd ask here. What would be the best type (material) of pipe to pour brass into to make a 3" round maybe 5" long round stock for the lathe? This is really a one off project so just a quick and dirty method to re-use a few kilos of brass shavings...

    Data Plate Mod

After all the tweaking it's accomplished everything I've needed it to do, so far. Nothing really lengthy though, which is where I suspect my head alignment issue will show itself. My biggest day to day complaint is how long the control board takes to catch up under load. I lose quite a bit of...

    Data Plate Mod

Hey, I thought I would show off my data plate for my 8x16 lathe. I have a family contact that was able to UV print it on metal of some sort. Looks awesome I think and best of all it's dedicated to my machine and gear set. I believe they're looking at printing custom UV printed vinyl sheets to be...

Mini 7" Horizontal Shaper Advice Needed

I want to get a small shaper just for fun. Needs to be small, was thinking around the 7" mark as that's what seems to be typical. Any suggestions on which brand is worth chasing, and where I may be able to find one?Was thinking if all else fails I'll get a set of plans and make one but would...

Portable Band Saw - WEN + KMS

I thought I would post a couple pics re the KING base with the WEN and KING saw mount points. The KING base, saw mount point has a hollow cutout (under the blue line). It's designed for a separate metal block that is screwed to the casting on the KING saw. This cutout works with both the KING...

Portable Band Saw - WEN + KMS

The 3 bolt pattern seemed to be consistent throughout many of the inexpensive saws. Not sure about big brand names though. The center of the base mounting pad is hollowed out which allows it to fit over the casting ridges on my saw. KMS saw uses a bolted on block for extra support which is what...

Portable Band Saw - WEN + KMS

Just wanted to share my new inexpensive bandsaw set up. In case anyone was curious, the KMS base fits this saw perfectly. I believe this saw is the exact same as the MAXXT which is on Amazon. I got this saw for 150 ish from HD and went to KMS and got the base. KMS shows the old style version of...

Experimenting with a lathe way cover.

That's a great idea. I'd have to remove the end so I wouldn't lose any height, or maybe upside down.
