    Buying from McMaster Carr

I’m not a business for my garage activities but regularly bought from Mcmaster for items I couldn’t find elsewhere. Pre March 2025 when I stopped buying (as much as feasible) from American companies I just got them to ship to a Pembina ND address. No fuss. Much cheaper shipping than to Canada...

    Milling machine CA$1,500

Most likely not 50 taper, but would be a bonus if 40 taper not the usual odd ball Cinci taper these mills mostly had. Hope it’s just an optical illusion and the x axis screw on right end isn’t bent.

compound sine plate, $3300, Langdon, AB

Interesting. I’ve got a fair amount of surface grinding time, but none on a CNC. Having a hard time visualizing compound angles being ground w CNC without a compound sine table. Pics? Explanation? Edited for better grammar. (Should have paid attention in Junior High)

Bison Vise FPU 8 inch, Thorold, ON

Thanks for posting this, would be interested in playing with one and see if any advantage over my bog standard Record vises.

compound sine plate, $3300, Langdon, AB

Had to put my readers on. Thought there was an extra zero? No wait, there is! Alberta advantage? I normally don’t comment on price unless it is so far out there in optimistic land like most of this seller’s listings. Does this strategy work for a seller? On edit- added second paragraph.
