  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Just got the electrical upgraded in my shop. 200A Been a year here now. Quonset hut was here and insulated (some what). It's 3 times the size of my old shop. I would never recommend a quonset hut shop, but it came with the property. The price of building new these days scares me.

    If you know a trucker, see if you can get some Load secure friction mats. When ever I got off loaded just threw them out or an pile. I picked up a bunch when I was over the road for my tool box. Better than the originals I got with my Snap-on box!!! friction mats

    Cut a few pieces on the CNC plasma table. Take aluminum found at scrap yard, machine on lathe, press in some princess auto bearings and we have 2 front wheels. Pull out some 1.125" bar stock, machine in lathe for wheel mounts.

    Sort of, It's a piece of 2.5" X 2.5 " X .188" wall tubing. I put it there for my universal grinder, work stand. Just in case my bench runs out of room.;) Build thread, I think so. I'll see if I can dig it up. Thanks.
