Nope, it was an actual physical card in my old fashioned mailbox.

    UPS gripe

Canada post left me a delivery notice last Friday. I went to the post office to collect whatever it is/was and they have no record of the item in their system. I don't know what it might have been either as I had nothing I was expecting.

    US Tariffs

I've got a power bar from my aquarium controller that needs to be sent in for repair to the US. I'm very hesitant to do so right now because of the ever changing tariff situation. Theoretically, it should not incur any tariff charges but given the unknowns of what and how they are randomly...

    Product Cordless tools

I had a bit of a time finding it too, it is not always stocked in stores. I finally found mine at Home Depot, but KMS usually shows it in their stores. I do use the clutch feature all the time to prevent over tightening the screws into the plastic panels. the nice thing is the clutch holds the...

    Product Cordless tools

I resisted getting into the M12 series for quite a while too, but finally gave in and now have a few tools and batteries. The one nice thing is that the chargers I have work for both the M18 and M12 batteries. I also have three or four spare chargers stowed away because I don't need them all at...

I'm a Milwaukee user, switched over from Ryobi tools several years ago and now have a pretty full selection of both M18 and M12 tools. Yes that does mean two battery formats, but the M12 line has some tools that are smaller lighter or just not available in the M18 line. If you want a true...

Gift for myself. LF common wisdom

I am currently planning a purchase of a quality collectable watch. My reason is due to a small inheritance following the death of my Mom last year. I want to get something meaningful and worthwhile to remember both her and my dad. My choice is a Breitling Chronomat GMT. Not quite as good at...

Made in/shop in Canada options - Links or recommendations only!

Red oak cells are like a bundle of straws which lets the liquid escape through capillary action. White oak has closed cells and does not let the liquid pass through. You can test a piece of oak and generally determine which species it is by examining the end grain for the hollow cells. You can...

Red oak is not suitable for barrels, at least not ones for liquids as the wood is porous.

    Little one day projects

I've had this Pro Point metal band saw for quite a while now and in general it works fairly well. The saw itself is basically a hand held model with a base to make it a horizontal cut off saw. I wanted to be able to convert it to vertical use on occasion but the base won't let the saw go up to...
